Decatur, GA, August 30, 2007- Working Title Playwrights (WTP), Atlanta's leading play-development organization, announces its Wednesday, September 12, 2007, 7:30pm Playwrights &. Series: this time - the playwrights take the stage! - at Wordsmiths Books, 141 E. Trinity Place, in downtown Decatur, with Patricia Henritze, one of Atlanta's most exciting playwrights. In this unique storytelling event, Patricia performs Learning to Talk: my life story and other fiction, an evening of memoir and monologue, funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. and DeKalb County Government's Department of Arts, Culture and Entertainment (ACE).

From Nightingales to Twizzlers, Patricia's dark humor skims the murky waters of family life, marriage and art. Patricia is the recent recipient of a 2007 Theater Communications Travel Grant for her project Who's There, which she's developing in Budapest, Hungary. This past year, her play SNAPSHOTS was performed in collaboration with The Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence; her short memoir about surviving cancer, Reclaiming the Joy, was published in SKIRT! Magazine, and the full version of Learning to Talk was awarded Honorable Mention in the Associated Writers and Writing Programs 2007 Journal Awards.
