Get Involved
We're dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for our Affiliate playwrights. After you've browsed through the programs we offer below, learn about how to become an Affiliate. We're open to all writers, whether you're a seasoned playwright, or are just starting out.
WTP Programs for Playwrights
Our biweekly meetings where all Affiliates may bring work to be read.
Closed, unrehearsed readings of completed drafts.
WTP presents open-to-the-public roundtable workshops of new full-length plays still in development.
Three plays are chosen for intensive workshops and a final staged reading during our Summer Series Festival Weekend.
Using interactive techniques learned as Fellows at the Kennedy Center Advanced Playwriting Intensive, Affiliate Playwrights Dr. Pamela Turner (SE Representative, Dramatists Guild of America) and Hank Kimmel (WTP's Board President) guide participants in four, three-hour workshops designed to open up the blocked mind, embolden your current works-in-progress and illuminate the creative path before you.
WTP Affiliates are not only playwrights – some of our members write prolifically in genres other than for the stage. For those Affiliates, we offer the Playwrights &... Reading Series.
The once a month group reading and discussion of a contemporary masterpiece. From Suzan-Lori Parks' Topdog/Underdog to David Harrower's Blackbird, we cover the gamut and bring the page alive in this open-to-the-public, laid back, FREE and FUN afternoon reading group.
