Monday Night Reading Series
September 26, 2005 at 7.30pm
Snowbound, Hank Kimmel's seriously comic play about the consequences of the appearance of impropriety, will be the next work in Working Title Playwrights' Monday Night WIP (works in progress) Reading Series at Neighborhood PlayhouseSnowbound deals with the plight of 62 year-old Bill Grenawalt, the CEO of a multi-national company, when he and Julie Shaffer, his 26 year-old female protégé, get caught in an unexpected snowstorm and have to find refuge in a motel off the interstate -- the day before Christmas Eve. Faced with the dilemma of only one available room, Grenawalt and Shaffer learn that the appearance of impropriety can sometimes be worse than impropriety itself.
Snowbound received a reading at Push Push Theater as part of its 2002 "Holiday on Thin Ice" program. The play was selected in 2005 for inclusion in the Eileen Heckart Senior Drama Archives at the Ohio State University.
