WTP's Playwrights &... Series brings Karla Jennings to Wordsmiths Books

The second installment of Working Title's Playwrights &... Series brings Karla Jennings to the boards with her own unique storytelling event at Wordsmiths Books.Join in the fun as Karla Jennings performs Spinning Trouble Into Gold, an evening of essays and plays showing how getting into trouble can be a creative catalyst and a blessing for a writer. The evening will leave you thinking that if you never get into any trouble, there's something missing from your life.
Karla Jennings' recent awards include a 2006 NP2 Ensemble Studio/Alliance Theatre Sloan commission, a 2006 Hermann Kesten fellowship for Clay's War, and a 2006 Magic Theatre Sloan commission for The Ruby Vector, also selected for Lark Theatre's Playwrights' Week 2005 and the 2005 National Arts Club Playwrights First Award. Creative Loafing rated Images in Smoke (Essential Theatre) among Atlanta's top 15 productions in 2000, awarding her their 2003 People's Choice Award for Best Local Playwright. She co-founded WTP and served as its founding Managing Director for three years.
In addition to staff reporting her journalistic work has run in The New York Times, Newsday, Cosmopolitan, and elsewhere. She's the author of a computer folklore book, The Devouring Fungus.
